Local talent will be showcased at the Roadhouse lounge at the CN Centre atrium during Road to the Roar curling pre-trial qualifying event, Nov. 10 to 14, said one local organizer.
Denis Dunkley said featuring local bands was the only choice.
"People from the east coast to the west are going to be here and we wanted to feature some local bands," said Dunkley, of Re/Max City Centre Realty, the sponsor of entertainment.
The Pucks, who are a local band that have enjoyed a great deal of success, will be performing Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday at the Roadhouse at the CN Centre. Each band will perform from 9 p.m. to about 2 a.m.
The Pucks have been together about 15 years and have three CDs. The group has played at the Commonwealth Games, opening for Crash Test Dummies. The Pucks opened for Barney Bentall at the Canada Games, as well as the western Canada Games and the B.C. Summer Games.
Mud River, a five-piece acoustic country band will perform Wednesday. There are four singers in the band providing a rich sound to a variety of songs.
The HubCaps are a six-piece band performing old rock and roll songs from the '50s and '60s on Thursday. The group is full of fun and energy.
The Blue Rock band has played in and around Prince George for the past five years and the musical veterans play everything from Buddy Holly to Led Zeppelin.
