KELOWNA -- Tyson Barrie scored the shootout winner as the Kelowna Rockets beat the Prince George Cougars 5-4 in Western Hockey League action on Wednesday night.
Mitchell Callahan, Brandon McMillan, Kyle St. Denis and Spencer Main scored for Kelowna (9-7-1), which scored twice in the first eight minutes, yet trailed 3-2 halfway through the second period.
The game was the second meeting of the season between the Rockets and Cougars, with Kelowna winning the opener, 7-1 on Oct. 10.
James Dobrowolski of nearby Vernon, with two goals, Nick Buonassisi, with a goal and assist, and Robbie Ciolfi, with his third goal of the season, replied for Prince George (3-12-1).
The Cougars, who played better as Wednesday's affair went along, entered the contest on a two-game losing streak and having lost 10 of its last 11 games.
Alex Wright made 30 saves for the Cougars, who now embark on a six-game road trip through the Prairies that starts Friday in Swift Current.
Adam Brown turned aside 27 shots for the Rockets, who host Chilliwack (7-8-1-3) on Friday night.

Brodsky obviously doesnt want to put a winning team on the ice.. wonder what his true plans are for them.. I cant see the WHL let him keep moving from city to city..

You have no idea what your talking about

That may have been an accurate statement 5 years ago but the first time in the Prince George Cougars history they are committed to a full rebuilding process. Some members of the media have even gone as far to call the cougars a glorified major midjet team. The last team to be called a glorified major midget team were the kelowna rockets in the 06/07 season and they won the championship last season. The difference between this years losing record and other losing records the cougars have suffered are their weak links are young players with a good 2 to 3 years to play in this league after this season. Give the cougars a little time and they will surprise a lot of people.

Full rebuilding

We have given the cougars 17 or so years to surprise us.. I also dont know what you mean by full rebuilding, to mean that means to clean house.. and that hasnt happened at all. As long as he hires family members you cant say he is doing what the team needs to become winners..they need to at least get rid of Thompson. I would love to look forward to going to the games again along with the rest of PG.. I do appreciate the fans who continue to buy season tickets, but know a lot more who have given them up (myself included) than keep buying them to just give brodsky more money.....

Thompson must go. Everyone can see he is the problem. But the Cougars do need the support of this town. So get out and do it.

Earn it back

We blindly supported them for to long and now want some real results. I think its time for the Cougars to give us a reason to come back. Most of that relies on Brodsky who actually doesnt seem to really care one bit how the Cougars are doing or he would do something real to make them better.
