The jury has reached a verdict in the coroner's inquest into the death of Cheryl Ann Bouey. Bouey, 42, was ruled by the jury to have died as a result of suicide carried out by hanging herself in a Prince George RCMP cell on June 26, 2008 between the hours of 2:17 a.m. and 2:22 a.m. After about three hours of deliberation, the chief recommendation made by the jury of three men and two women was for the City of Prince George to carry out the proposed construction of a new police station. This was listed last among their 10 recommendations, but it was first in terms of overarching community impact. For a full account of the jury's verdict, see tomorrow morning's edition of The Citizen.
