They crossed the finish line simultaneously in 24:09 and earned a share of the winner’s circle at Otway Nordic Centre in the Prince George Cycling Club’s first fat tire event of the season.
The two-lap event drew eight riders, while five took part in the single-lap race.
Prince George Alpine Ski Racers team member Will Andal clocked 26:45 in third place, 2:34 off the winning pace. Nicole LeBlanc (30:19) won the women’s two-lap race in sixth place overall. Other finishers were: Merle Tutte, fourth overall in 27:05; Erich Zwick, fifth in 28:00; and Philip Rice, seventh in 31:26.
Kevin Flanagan won the 2.5km race in 14:20, followed by Brett Woods (15:35) and Adam Spensely (15:39). Tara Box was the top female in the one-lap event in 17:14, followed by 12-year-old Lynden Tretiak (24:25).
The next cross-country race is set for Tuesday, July 28. Registration starts at 6 p.m. and the race follows at 7. A race is also scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 25.
