James Rogers is a Vancouver guitar player who will be performing during the Blues Underground Network's monthly dance April 4 at the Columbus Community Centre.
Organizer Earl Krushelnicki said Rogers' music is in the style of early Powder Blues.
"He has guest appeared with the Powder Blues band and his style should be very good dance music," he added.
Rogers has also opened and played shows with artists such as Kim Wilson & the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Long John Baldry, Kenny Neal, Elvin Bishop, Indigenous, Holmes Brothers, Sue Foley, Long John Hunter, Canned Heat, Jerry Doucette and Jim Byrnes.
"Rogers has been playing guitar for about 20 years and he's only in his early 30s, so I think he's one of those young guitar phenomena, and still plays great guitar," said Krushelnicki.
Blues fans can look forward to the next dance presented by Blues Underground that will see Jack Semple play May 2.
Tickets for either dance are $25 ($20 for underground members) at Books & Co. For more information visit www.bluesnorth.com.
