The Muscular Dystrophy pancake brunch with Santa takes place Dec. 7 from 9 to noon at the Hart Community Centre, 4900 West Austin Rd. Santa will be escorted to this fundraising event by Prince George firefighters. There will also be Shrine clowns and the Country Cuzzins singers providing entertainment, as well as prizes, face-painting, goodie bags and food. Everyone is welcome. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children under eight, a family of four is $25. ------- Axis Family Resources and South Fort George Family Resource Centre will be providing a two-hour workshop on getting through the Christmas shopping season without breaking the bank. It will be held at the resource centre -- the old South Fort George Elementary School -- on Dec. 9, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Call Maryann at 250-564-9064 ext 29 or Randie at 250-614-9449 to register. ------- Bernie Goold from St. Vincent de Paul says 400 Prince George children will have a happier Christmas with new dolls, dinosaurs, Disney characters and more collected during a challenge contest between the Victoria and Phoenix Medical buildings staff members. "This is one instance in which the children are the real winners," said Goold. ------ Prince George military families who have loved ones in Afghanistan or have returned from military duty are invited to an informal Christmas reception Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Railway and Forestry Museum. Bring a favourite appetizer to share. RSVP to 250-563-7351. ------ The Latin Association of Northern B.C. will hold a Latino Christmas party at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at Art Space above Books and Company. Cost is free to members and $10 to non-members. A New Year's party, jointly held by Afro/Caribbean Association and Latino Association, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 31 at Art Space. Cost of $10 and includes finger foods.
