The largest anabolic steroids bust in Prince George history occurred Halloween night.
In addition to a large amount of cocaine, two firearms and a large amount of cash, police gathered large quantities of the illegal muscle-building substance. They had the help of the Canada Border Services Agency.
"We are led to believe the anabolic steroids came to Prince George from China," said RCMP spokesman Const. Gary Godwin. "This amount indicates trafficking."
A lone male resident of Prince George was arrested at a home in the 1500 block of Pine Street. A number of smuggling and drug charges are pending.
Along with the illegal substances they also located a Glock handgun with two loaded clips and a pistol-grip 12-gauge shotgun with 22 rounds of ammunition including slugs.
Evidence also indicated the suspect was in the process of cooking powder cocaine into crack cocaine.
"This is the largest seizure of anabolic steroids in our history in Prince George," Godwin said. "We have made seizures of personal-use amounts, but this is two kilograms of powder and a large amount in liquid vial form."
Cash totalling almost $6,000 was also seized.
The suspect has not been named and was released from custody on a promise to appear at a later court date. A charge package is still being built by police for submission to federal Crown Counsel.
"We are not drawing any inference to organized crime in this case, but the amount indicates the trafficking would probably be gang controlled at some point," said Godwin.

Does this have anything to do with the home invasion in the 1800 block of Norwood?
Or the rest of the home invasions happening in the VLA? What the H is going on? Does anyone even care what's happening around here?! What happens when you have two gangs living on the same block? It's getting pretty dammed scary!! Does someone else have to die first before anything is done?!

WOW our justice system at its finest. All that and they release him on a promise to appear..... mind you he sounds like a fine upstanding honest fellow, I'm sure he'll show up for his court date. I sure feel sorry for the police that bust these people and then see them on the street again before the ink is dry on their paperwork.
