The College Heights Cougars are maintaining their top-five status in the provincial double-A boys volleyball rankings.
Although they dropped down a position in the weekly poll, the College Heights Cougars are still ranked fourth, right behind No. 1 Mennonite Educational Institute, Fraser Valley Christian and Langley Christian. The Duchess Park Condors are not far behind the Cougars, slotted sixth in the rankings, dropping down from fifth a week ago. The D.P. Todd Trojans remained unchanged at No. 12.
College Heights secondary school will host the double-A zone championship starting Friday at 4:30 p.m. Duchess Park will face Williams Lake on Court B, while on Court A, the host Cougars will play Peter Skene Odgen of 100 Mile House. The 6:30 p.m. matchups feature D.P. Todd against Chetwynd, and Quesnel against Nechako Valley of Vanderhoof.
The zone championship game on Saturday is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
The zone champion will go on to represent the north central zone at the provincial double-A championship, Nov. 26-29.
In the triple-A rankings, the Correlieu Clan of Quesnel is the top-ranked team in the north, ranked No. 19, while the Prince George Polars are right behind, moving up from 21st to 20th position. Yale currently holds the top triple-A ranking in the province.
