EDMONTON - A 15-year-old Edmonton teen has been stabbed in the stomach with a machete, but is going to be all right.

Police say the youth and several others were standing outside in the city's southeast Friday night when a group of masked males started chasing them.

The 15-year-old was stabbed with the machete at some point during the chase.

Staff at a nearby hospital notified police.

Officers say they don't believe the attack was random, but their investigation is being hampered by a lack of co-operation from witnesses.
