FRASER-FORT GEORGE REGIONAL DISTRICTCHILAKO RIVER-NECHAKO
Harvey Clark has his sights set on a 10th term as Area C (Chilako River-Nechako) director of the Fraser-Fort George Regional District. Voters will decide at the civic election Nov. 15, the same day a referendum vote will be held concerning a proposed community hall in Beaverly. "I've been a great supporter of that. I was able to obtain feasibility funds to process that to get to where it is now," said Clark, who is also excited about the district's solid waste management program, which the district board recently approved. "As far as green stuff there, we're collecting the methane off the landfill and waiting for the possibility of greenhouses being built up by landfill, for use as fuel." Clark is a "close supporter" of the Chilako-Nechako Rescue Service, the Lower Mud River Farmers' Institute and the fire department in Beaverly. The latter is trying to build a new hall on the other side of Highway 16. Along with representing the four community associations in his area, the Miworth resident also represents the district on the Trans-Canada Yellowhead Highway Association. Clark has served as district vice-chair the past two years.
