City council needs its ticket punched Print E-mail

A P.G. city councillor confirmed that city council lost $150,000 with the deal with Horizon Air. But it was a good deal, he said, because it could have cost more.
Apparently the airlines overlooked a few more thousand dollars on this deal. Kind of like being robbed and the robber leaves you a quarter for a phone call.
My interpretation of his tone, and most likely other councillors, is that they shrugged this “investment” off. Not as a bad investment but similar to them losing $10 bucks on a lottery ticket.
Maybe the attitude comes complete with the fact it wasn’t even their money, but ours.
An eighth of a million tax dollars gambled away? Just divide your own personal city taxes into that $150,000 to see how many more of your neighbours had to pay for this.
Time to oust all the incumbents. I personally can’t afford them anymore.

I agree wi8th you Scott BUT if we want a change in Council with the number of candidates that have come forward (and still counting) we had better do some strategic planning. How to do that?
