It's a long time overdue, but I would like to thank all the folks who donated their time to assist in making our part of the 2008 B.C. Seniors Games a success. The slo-pitch segment of the games appeared to go off without too many glitches, all because of: Meredith Spike, who co-ordinated this event; Ray Normandeau (Mr. Everything) and his crew of groundskeepers and umpires at Spruce City Men's and Merchant Men's fields; to Byron Jones, the other Mr. Everything, from umping to groundskeeping to gofer mainly at Nechako; to Phillip Sophonow, who spent three days by himself keeping score at Spruce City. Then there was Linda and K-Lynn Hogh, who took early morning games at North Nechako fields at the coldest part of the day. Janice Koski from Scotiabank, who took it upon herself to fill in all of the remaining spots with her group from all of the Scotiabank branches and put them in the remaining slots for scorekeeping and grounds. Then there was Elmo Sturgeon, who spent extra time making sure we were all looked after and that the grounds at Nechako were ready for every game. Great big thank-yous to Bill Lim for taking on the task of finding umpires at the last moment. Thanks to all and any of those I have missed. My job was made so easy that I hardly had anything to do but enjoy the games. -- Edna Stitt Prince George
