PRINCE GEORGE AIRPORT AUTHORITY
Lawyer and community volunteer Dave Wilbur will be taking a second run at a seat on city council. "It seems to me we've got at least two spots on council for new faces and I think there is an appetite out there for change," said Wilbur, who finished 11th in the 2005 race with 4,590 votes. A director on the Prince George Airport Authority and, until recently, the chair of the Fraser-Fort George Community Futures Development Corporation, economic development is high on Wilbur's priority list. "I thought it was the thing we should have been paying more attention to over the years," he said, adding making the most of the runway extension and tech stop at the airport was something he emphasized during the 2005 campaign. The time for studying ways to redevelop the downtown is over in Wilbur's view. "There always seems to be an excuse for not doing something and it's got to the point where there has to be some action," said Wilbur, whose office is downtown. The election is on Nov. 15.
