TORONTO - Support staff at Ontario's 24 community colleges have voted in favour of a tentative contract agreement.
The three-year deal includes a raise of nearly four per cent in the first year and three per cent in each of the next two years. OPSEU says the agreement also has what it calls groundbreaking language on bullying and harassment.
The agreement covering 6,500 workers was signed in late August, just in time to avert a threatened walkout.
The workers had rejected a previous contract offer by nearly 80 per cent and had voted 69 per cent in favour of strike action.
College support staff includes custodians, registrars, library and information technicians.
