There was a lot of attention being paid to the melting of the Arctic ice cap over the past summer. Unprecedented, said the experts.
However, at one point in history the Arctic supported mammoths such as the one in the provincial museum in Victoria. We are told there were also beavers that weighed as much as 500 poundss, as indicated by skeletal evidence.
This brings up the question: How thick was the polar ice cap when all of the plant growth necessary to support these animals was occurring?

Good Question! These huge mammals would have needed a LOT of food.

Global warming...bring it on!! It's been CHILLY lately--betcha the bigwigs of Terasen are toasting the champagne a lot with Big Gord lately (greedy so-and-so's)...

our planet has had a ice age warmed up to tropical temp then back to ice so where does global warming come into it depends which 1 of 1000 scientists u listen 2 and who pays their salary.
