Hearings will be held for two items at Monday's city council meeting:
- to reduce the rear-yard setback at 5005 Simon Fraser Avenue to so a covered basement entry can be added to the home.
- to allow facade improvements at Spruceland Mall.

Council will also hear from three delegations:
- Community Partners Addressing Homelessness will talk about homelessness action week, Oct. 12-19.
- Prince George Literacy Now will make a pitch for including literacy in the city's social and sustainability planning.
- The Prince George Folkfest Society will ask for $10,000 and use of the Prince George Playhouse for this winter's Coldsnap music festival.
- Dan Muscatello of Landrum Brown will give an overview of the opportunities at Prince George Airport for re-fuelling, transshipment and further development of a logistics park with the extension of the runway.
As well, an airport light industrial plan will be up for approval and an application to rezone about 700 hectares

Options for seeking property owners' approval to expand the downtown business improvement area will be presented to council.

A concept for the new Veterans' Plaza in front of city hall will be up for consideration.

Proposed exemptions from property taxes for $280,000 worth of improvements at 363 George Street, a two-storey commercial building, and $325,000 worth of improvements at 365 George Street, the Central Interior Native Health Centre, will be up for consideration.

Permissive tax exemption bylaws for lands owned by non-profit groups and churches around the city will be up for two readings.
