Dave Wilson, a longtime former administrator for the Fraser-Fort George Regional District, succumbed to cancer on the weekend. He was 73.
His friend Jim Blake said Wilson passed away peacefully in Prince George early Saturday morning with his family at his side.
"He did a lot of good for this community," said Blake, chair of the Prince George Airport Authority, of which Wilson had served as vice-chair since the authority's inception in 2000.
"We worked very closely together for many years," Blake said. "He was very involved and very respected for his opinions. He will be sadly missed by all of us."
Wilson, who retired in 1997, was also the former head of the Municipal Finance Authority of B.C.
He is survived by his wife Jean and daughters Cat, Karen, Janice and Trish.
