Pinewood elementary thanks families for following the drop-off/pick-up safety measures. By staying out of the parking lot and using Campbell Ave. or Olds St. when getting kids off to school in the morning and collecting them at night, traffic hazards have been greatly reduced. The parking lot in front of the school is only to be used when you are going inside the school.

Zion Lutheran Christian School has had a great first month of school. On the evening of the first day of school, the PTL and school board hosted a barbeque for the parents and students. We were happy to see everyone who attended. The days have since been filled with teaching and learning both in the classroom and in the playground. Students participated in the Terry Fox Walk after they enjoyed a hot lunch of homemade chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese sandwiches and fresh veggies. We were happy to see that every student brought a donation to give towards the event.

Austin's gym was packed last Tuesday night with over 90 children and their parents attending the choir registration night, interested in Mrs. Haughian's breakdown of the Austin Road Choristers. The choir's first rehearsal was Thursday afternoon, which lead swiftly to the open house in the evening, where teachers met parents and siblings of their new students (even the PAC had a welcoming table set up).
On Friday afternoon students ran a combined 1,031 kms in the Terry Fox Run, raised over $200 for the cause, and were rewarded with nutritious pears, apples, and water for their valiant and altruistic efforts.
