How could I forget?

One of the highlights of our weekend trip to Prince George was Laser Tag at Bubba Baloo's.  This little activity redeemed me (a bit) with my kids for the long highway drive.

We went on a Saturday...only to realize that Friday Nights is the unlimited Laser Tag night for $10 per person.  Oh well, we will know better for next time.  I can't really comment on the Games, or Food at Bubba Baloo's - as the entire weekend was a race against the clock before it was time to head home on Sunday morning, but we managed to squeak in 2 games of Laser Tag.

I took the traditional "mom" role as the 'Keeper of the Stuff' - holding everyones belongings as my Fiance and kids did the laser tag.  They all emerged 30 minutes later....dripping in sweat and smiling, so a good time was had by all, despite the "iffy" laser equipment.  My older daughter's get-up didn't work at all for the first 15 minutes...but the manager on duty was great about it.  Although they couldn't really refund me for the one missed game, she issued me 4 passes for laser tag and extended the expiry date as we were from out of town.

On Sunday Morning, before we hit the highway, my Fiance took us to Fort George Park.  My 10 year old just loved the Splash Park.  It was nice to see volunteers setting up for the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation Charity Walk/Run....and the Flowers were just gorgeous!

Any other suggestions of some family friendly Prince George activities or outtings?  Bubba Baloo's was an obvious outlet for "fun", but I'm sure the local families know where to go for a good time on a budget.

So where do you go with your family for fun in Prince George?

sorry it appears the events listed for Snow Daze are from this past winter, but it gives you an idea anyway.

This activity is actually much more suited for Me and my 10 year old daughter. We have tried cross country skiing out in a field by my house, very Crude to put it mildly!! yet we still enjoyed it. Trails like this would be a super treat! and I need to get more active - turning into a major lazy bones lately! Thanks very much for your weblink : )

what we usually do in Vegreville for fun...

To be completely honest, no a whole lot.
My 2 older kids were in high level traditional Karate-Do for many years. Over 8 !! in fact my son reached Jr. Black Belt level - then our Sensei moved to Victoria B.C. we had another black belt agree to be Sensei for the next year.. but now the club has just died.
To be short with the answer, in order to have "fun" we generally drive to Edmonton, Alberta.
Movie theatres, maybe Mini Golf, shopping.
As a whole family activity that is easy on the pocket book, I would most likely plan Hikes, etc..
My son plays high school football. and work part time at the small Walmart-McDonalds.
My 16 year old daughter, also works at McDonalds
The 10 year old is an excellent student, enjoys hip hop dancing, and is a "gamer"
Really this is such a small farming community, there's not too much to do "in town"
Prince George offers so Much!!! it will be a very nice change in lifestyle

Prince George Observatory
The Family Y
Roll A Dome
X Country Skiiing at Otway - there are clubs and it's great for the family

Noah's Ark
Golf (but no mini golf in PG? Used to be out at the Park Drive In – not sure about that anymore)
Sliding at various hills in PG
Ice skating – there are many community run rinks in the winter time in various neighborhoods.
