VICTORIA - B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell says he doesn't want to get involved in the coming federal election campaign, even after federal Conservative cabinet minister Gary Lunn attacked the province's controversial carbon tax.
Campbell says the recent criticism of his government's carbon tax by the federal Tory is part of an election process that will see Canada's two national parties battle over environmental policy.
With the federal election call imminent, Lunn says carbon taxes - both B.C.'s and the one proposed by the federal Liberals - are poor government policy.
But Campbell refused to discuss the federal Liberals' environmental platform, which includes a cross-Canada carbon tax.
The B.C. premier says he doesn't want to get dragged into the federal fight.
Campbell's provincial Liberals have admitted they need to do a better job selling the carbon tax to British Columbians.
