DARTMOUTH, N.S. - The entire New Brunswick shoreline of the Bay of Fundy has been closed to harvesting for scallops, mussels, oysters, clams and quahogs due to domoic acid contamination.
The area will reopen once testing indicates domoic acid is no longer present.
Amnesic shellfish poisoning can cause permanent short-term memory loss, brain damage, and in severe cases, death.
