Tyler Eugene Fetterly -- charged with kidnapping using a firearm, extortion using a firearm and related counts -- briefly appeared in Prince George provincial court Thursday.
He was ordered remanded in custody until his next court session Sept. 18 to fix a date for trial.
Other charges faced by Fetterly, 23, include unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, administering a noxious substance with intent to endanger and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

Kelly M. Richet, charged with dangerous driving and flight from police in pursuit, returns to court next Wednesday for a bail hearing.
Other charges faced by Richet, 23, include mischief, possession of stolen property and failure to attend court.

Carlin Wayne Sponagle, 19, charged with unlawful confinement and assault with a weapon, made a brief appearance in provincial court Thursday by video from Prince George Regional Correctional Centre.
He was remanded in custody for his next court session Sept. 18 to fix a date for trial.
Other charges faced by Sponagle include extortion using a firearm, kidnapping using a firearm, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and administering a noxious thing with intent to endanger.
