Fort George Park will be alive with the sounds of music to mark the official start of the Prince George Symphony Orchestra season.
Popular Pops in the Park, a free afternoon concert at 2 p.m. Sept. 7, will be a live performance of old and new favourites from film, musicals, television and popular recordings.
It's a perfect afternoon for children and families offering favourite classical and popular music as well as food and exhibits by community groups, said Barb Parker, PGSO general manager.
Exhibits from B.C. Hydro, Prince George Conservatory of Music, Violin Shop, Two Rivers Gallery and others will be on site with a number of food vendors.
Afternoon prizes will include tickets for PGSO concerts and the Beach Boys upcoming concert at CN Centre Sept. 24.
Come early with blankets and lawn chairs to see the exhibits and get a good spot, Parker said.
For more information call the PGSO office at 250-562-0800 or visit the web site at www.pgso.com.
