CNC automotive training
A special 16-hour training course on hybrid vehicle technology will be offered by the college’s continuing education department over consecutive evenings from 6 to 10 p.m. from Sept. 8 to 11. The course is geared for shop owners/managers; auto repair, collision and refinish technicians; service advisors; insurers and estimators.
Participants will learn how hybrid technology works, the safety issues, and how to perform routine maintenance and service. Featured will be vehicles produced by General Motors, Honda and Toyota. Tuition is $325.

Friendship Day
Grower Direct Fresh Cut Flowers is promoting Friendship Day on Thursday. This community-minded business gets behind a lot of good causes, and this one is to support the Salvation Army. Bring donations of non-perishable food to Grower Direct in the Foothills Plaza at 4190 15th Ave.
In exchange, the friendly florists will hand you a little bouquet of six flowers -- one to keep and five to give away. They invite you to celebrate your friends that day by spreading the joy of flowers. The goal of Friendship Day this year is to collect 4,000 pounds of food to support the Salvation Army’s work in feeding our fellow citizens in need.
If you can afford to donate by the case, remember that Save-On-Foods is featuring a special case lot sale this week. Grower Direct will extend their hours on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to accommodate those who’d like to drop off donations going to or from work.
