What would you do if you had a child who worked at a local restaurant where gang members frequented? What would you say to your child? You have to find another job. Knowing that on any given day their life could be at risk while they are obediently doing their job and having to serve these scum, who happen to throw down hundreds of dollars as a tip, feeling afraid because a gang member happens to park their vehicle in broad daylight in front of the restaurant doors, proudly displaying one whole side of the vehicle covered with bullet holes (and not the stick-on kind), and a member of a rival gang could easily see their vehicle, what could happen next? The rival gang member walks into the restaurant and starts shooting at the gang member inside. So my child's life could be taken in the blink of an eye. Any innocent person out for a meal could have their life ended in a split second. Nice thought. These gang members are just kids themselves and think they are invincible. They have absolutely no regard for anyone but themselves. What do I have to say to these gang members? Enjoy your high-profile life while it lasts, because at the rate you seem to be going, your own lives will eventually end in tragedy. Good luck. None of us are safe anywhere in this city as long as these gangs continue to rule the land. Innocent lives can be ended at any given moment at any given location, because we don't know where these gang members will turn up, or when a gang war will commence. We'll just be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Why is it that it always takes the loss of an innocent life to put an end to a problem, in this case a problem that is out of control? What do I have to say to managers of restaurants or any other establishment that know these gang members are frequenting? Tell them they are not welcome in your establishment, end of story. Worried about repercussions? I don't blame you. They'll move on to another establishment and need to be shut down there as well, until they are not welcome anywhere. It's up to managers of all eating establishments in this city to put an end to these gangs making your restaurant their hangout. If you all stick together, it's a start to making them feel unwelcome because of who they are and what they do, and I will have a child to look at, admire, talk to, and love for another day.
