HART HIGHWAY
A public open house will be held Tuesday evening for a proposed long-term plan for a development at the north end of the city. Called the Glenview Crescents neighbourhood plan, it outlines the broad intentions for 63 hectares east of the ends of Knight Crescent and Chestnut Drive, just off the Hart Highway. The open house will be held at Eagles Hall, 6742 Dagg Road, 7-9 p.m. Main features include: - Nordic Drive will be extended north and meet with Knight Crescent, which will be extended east. - Residential development will consist of two subdivisions, one along the north side and one to the south with the land in between set aside as green space and park. In all, the plan calls for 374 single-family homes and 123 units of multiple family. - Two neighbourhood parks are included totaling four ha., connected by 2.5 km. of trails, while greenbelt will take up a further 18.5 ha. And roads will occupy 9.9 ha., leaving 30.6 ha. of net developable land. Comments from the public could lead to revisions of the plan, which will be submitted to city council for approval. Copies of the plan can be found at www.lmengineering.bc.ca.
