I was just finishing mowing my lawn and noticed the city of Prince George park maintenance men with all their equipment, gas powered weed whackers, etc. taking care of our park (on Wainwright Street), in which they do an excellent job. I asked the guys to weed whack a little section of outside the neighbours lawn, which I think may or may not belong to the city -- it's in the alley between Watrous and Wainwright. The park maintenance men not only weed whacked they cleaned the entire area up. I am so impressed. My neighbours are elderly; he's a veteran, the property is right next to the park and it makes the entire area look better, they don't get around well enough to do it themselves and as far as I know the Legion mows their lawn. With the mosquitos, and West Nile virus, it makes us feel better that the city would take the time to do this. In our opinion they deserve every penny they got in the new contract. This extra effort shows us community pride and the true spirit of Prince George. I wanted to take the time to say: Good job city of Prince George! Good job City of Prince George park maintenance! People who take the time to help our elders restore our faith in society as it is. Once again, thank you and your employees for your time. -- J.L. Bourdon Prince George
