Re: local Little League team being allowed to play at provincials.
Thank you Jim Swanson and Jason Peters!
We loved the coverage you gave our Little League 11-12 year olds in the paper. It was outstanding!
As I am sure you are aware of the result. Our boys are back in play because you cared and went above and beyond to tell our story!
With all our talking and pleading the answer was still no. But once you were contacted and the stories ran; they found a way. Amazing.
As having a bad teacher one year in school can ruin you for the rest of your school days, so can an experience like this. We were quite worried that this experience may affect kids' decisions about playing all-stars next year or even playing ball all together. Now thanks to you, that won’t be the case.
Our family can’t thank you enough. Our son Alex was really devastated when he was told they wouldn’t be playing; he had put in so much work into his practices even arriving an hour ahead of them to get extra practice. You should have seen his face light up last night when I told him they were back in. My husband Brad and I had been involved in the tournament committee from the beginning and thank you that all our efforts will be for our son’s benefit as well.
Jim, Jason, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

Jim and Jason and the sports department do an excellent job of covering local sports...they seem to bend over backwards to find and report local stories about local athletes/teams. I was so happy to hear this administrative wrong was righted, probably about 99% because of the media coverage.
