MONTREAL - A Montreal man has been charged in a series of violent sexual assaults against prostitutes.
Giovanni D'Amico, 41, appeared briefly in court Thursday in Montreal. He faces 11 charges including aggravated sexual assault, uttering threats and assault against four female victims.
The assaults are alleged to have taken place in both the east and southwestern sectors of Montreal between 2002 and 2007.
Montreal police say the assaults allegedly took place in D'Amico's car after he refused to pay the women.
D'Amico was arrested at his home on Wednesday. He returns to court Friday for a bail hearing.
