Re: Left-turn lane on highway 97. As an owner of a house on Victoria, I do not want a left-turn lane off Highway 97. If such a turn lane existed, then there would be a huge increase in traffic, most of it speeding down the hill at the top of Victoria using it as a) a quick route through to the downtown; b) a quick route home; c) a quick route to the crack shacks. An elementary school is situated at the bottom of the hill on Victoria. The traffic flow on 97 South would be interrupted when millions are being spent to improve the flow. Neighbourhoods in many places fight to eliminate through-traffic, and in this case here is a group of people campaigning to increase through-traffic. Careful what you wish for. The VLA has enough problems, and a lot of potential: A left-turn lane would be a step backwards for this neighbourhood. -- N.D. Alexander Prince George
