COURTENAY, B.C. - RCMP say a child whose disappearance prompted an Ambert Alert has been found.

Police in Courtenay, B.C., issued the alert Tuesday afternoon. Police were trying to locate a 10-year-old girl who they say may have been abducted in the Cumberland area.

Within a few hours of issuing the alert for Shyanne Dawn Carto, police said the girl had been recovered safely.
