Highways angels come to family’s rescue Print E-mail

There is a song called Angels Among Us, by Alabama, and I now have firsthand knowledge of such Angels.
On June 27, my family and I were travelling to Barkerville for our first Canada Day camping weekend. About 20 minutes outside of Quesnel, a moose decided to cross the highway and run right into our vehicle. My husband pulled over and by the time we got out of the van, three people had stopped and were all talking on their cell phones to the 911 operator. One of them had a first aid kit with her.
Our van was undrivable, and with the damage that we saw, we were extremely thankful that the only extent of our injuries was a few cuts and bruises. Two of the people left when they found out we were OK, and the third stayed with us, patching us up with her first aid kit, taking the kids to her truck and letting them sit there, away from the bugs and the cold, while my hubby and I spoke to the police officer and the tow truck driver. She talked to the kids, helping to calm them down, telling them she was heading to Quesnel because her kids were in a swim meet. This amazing woman stayed with us until she knew that we were going to be taken care of. There were many others that stopped to see if we needed help, and to all of those we wish to thank you very much. To Jane Dagasso of Dawson Creek, thank you so much for helping us with our kids, you are truly an angel among us. We did get to continue our camping trip to Barkerville, with the help of our “extended” family Drew Larsen, and had a wonderful weekend, despite the tragedy that happened. We truly believe that it was due to the help of Jane creating a safe environment for our family, taking care of our wounds and staying with us. To Jane and Drew, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your hearts are huge and your compassion is truly remarkable. There are not enough words to express our thanks, so we humbly say thank you, and hope some day we will be able to pay it forward.

There are certainly some angels among us still. I watched a woman whos truck broke down at an intersection and there had to of been 6 guys pushing her truck over to a service station adn that was so nice to see! I have also heard of an elderly lady who broke down in an intersection and got fingered for being "in the way", thats was disgusting behaviour!

Thank god for those gracious people out there.
