QUESNEL, B.C. - RCMP say a 37-year-old Vancouver-area man has been charged with murder in a five-year-old northern B.C. homicide case.
The Mounties say their Serious Crime Unit arrested a man on Saturday and charged him in the June 12, 2003, death of 79-year-old Harry Charles Purdey of Quesnel.
Purdey was found dead in his home after police received a complaint he had not been seen for several days.
An investigation confirmed the death as a homicide.
The RCMP say the accused man has been charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court in Quesnel on July 10.
The suspect's name has not been released yet.
