Girl, 16 from Milton, Ont., struck and killed after darting onto Highway 401 Print E-mail

MILTON, Ont. - A 16-year-old girl is dead after being struck by a tractor-trailer early Friday on Highway 401 in Milton, west of Toronto.

Provincial police say the girl was struck just after 3 a.m. after she darted out into traffic from the right shoulder of the highway. The girl was pronounced dead in hospital.

Her name will not be released until relatives are notified.

Westbound lanes of Highway 401 at the crash site (at the James Snow Parkway) were closed until just after 6 a.m.
