I live quite close to Fort George Park, and as expected my street has been inundated with people attending the Canada Day festivities. What I did not expect to see were multiple vehicles parked in front of the fire hydrant next to my house throughout the day .
Perhaps these people think that all they are risking is a ticket. I beg to differ. Parking in front of a hydrant is illegal for a reason - it makes the firefighters' job more difficult and thus places my home and family and the homes and families of my neighbours at risk.
I am also quite sure that firefighters would not hesitate to run a hose right through your vehicle if need be.
