The three-week labour dispute between Brandt Tractor and members of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115 has come to an end. According to a statement on the union's website, mediator Mark Atkinson has ruled that there would be no changes to the tentative agreement reached on June 27. This agreement includes wage increases of 22 per cent over the four years, plus increases in the tool and boot allowances, shift premium, meal allowance and pension contributions for employees hired between July 31, 2004 and June 10, 2008. Negotiations had broken down on May 26 and a strike began on June 11 at all the company's B.C. locations, including Prince George. Employees returned to work on Wednesday.
