ATHENS, Greece - Seismologists in Greece say a 5.3-magnitude earthquake has struck in the northern Aegean Sea.
Authorities say the earthquake, with an epicentre about 140 kilometres southeast of Thessaloniki, caused no casualties or damage.
There have been several aftershocks, with the strongest measuring 4.4, the scientists say.
Greece lies in one of the most earthquake-prone regions of the planet and strong tremors are a common occurrence.
