BUSAN, South Korea - Canadian veterans of the Korean War are beginning to feel they did not fight a forgotten war.
A delegation of 50 veterans is in South Korea to mark the 55th anniversary of the armistice.
They say these type of government ceremonies are a far cry from what the situation was immediately after they returned from the war.
The Korean veterans association president, Terry Wickens, says they were never recognized, even by their own legions.
He says that was due in part to the Vietnam War following relatively soon after.
Wickens says since 2000 when the Korean War memorial was dedicated in Ottawa, veterans from "this forgotten war" are now getting their due.
