COLLEGE HEIGHTSGARY GODWINPRINCE GEORGE RCMP
Prince George RCMP arrested two men and a youth Wednesday after an all night crime spree in College Heights. The first complaint was called in to Mounties at about 10 p.m. Tuesday and RCMP spokesman Const. Gary Godwin said the calls kept coming until Wednesday morning before officers returned to the detachment tired, splattered with mud but in the company of three youth suspects. "We are aware so far of 15 different cases of break-ins to vehicles: thefts and attempted thefts," Godwin said. "We are aware of four stolen vehicles so far, part of this series of incidents. One of them was a commercial cube van that we found in behind Wal-Mart and one was a 2007 Freightliner tractor unit we located at the end of Westgate." A police service dog was part of the investigation, and a foot pursuit was also involved. "Two of the suspects are 20 years old and both are known to police," Godwin said. "The other is a 17-year-old. They were still in custody at last word and our forensic investigation team is at work investigating each of these individual cases." Godwin is aware that there have been other major vandalism sprees in recent weeks that produced no clear suspects, and investigators are looking to find a connection, if any, between these suspects and those incidents.
