Highway maintenance appreciated Print E-mail

I am writing to express my gratitude to the men and women who work at keeping our roads and highways safe to drive on in the winter.
I drive for a highly regarded public transportation company and over this past winter I encountered many difficult road conditions, but in most cases I knew that the conditions would have been much worse had it not been for the efforts of the road crews on Highway 16 East and West, and Highway 97 North and South
It was such a pleasure seeing the yellow trucks and pickups as they kept their constant vigil on our highways.
On the occasion that I needed to contact my dispatch while coming from Dawson Creek, they were able to put me in contact with them. When I had an equipment failure by Dome Creek and one crew member helped me attempt to make the repair and yet another off-duty worker came after his shift and stayed with us until another coach came to our assistance; when the roads were so slippery that vehicles had difficulty staying on the road and these "knights of the highway" showed up to plow and sand the roads; on the days when it was snowing for my whole trip and the highways were kept safe because of these constant efforts, I offer my sincere thanks.
If you are one of these special persons who work for the different branches of highway maintenance in my division, I always look forward to seeing you when I come into your area. I am the driver that makes an effort to say hi by offering a grateful smile, a wave or the flicker of the signal light.
I ask that if you know any of these persons, that you pass on this message of a copy of this letter for their bulletin boards so they all know they are truly appreciated for who they are and for the work they do.
