PRINCE GEORGE YOUTH VOLLEYBALL CLUB
The Royal LePage Kodiaks were right at home at nationals. The Kodiaks, a 16-and-under girls team from the Prince George Youth Volleyball Club, posted a 7-1 record at the national championship tournament, held at the University of Calgary on the weekend. For their efforts, the Kodiaks were awarded silver medals in Division 3, which featured 48 teams. The only loss for the Prince George girls was in the final, where they were swept by Synergy from Surrey. In their preliminary matches, the Kodiaks beat the Medicine Hat Rattlers, Queens Ultimate of Swift Current, the Lightning from Alberta, Winnipeg, the Kelowna Klassics and the Kamloops Demons. In the playoffs, the Kodiaks continued to roll. First, they cooled off the Calgary Sizzle and, in the semifinal round, downed the Cranbrook Avalanche. All the Royal LePage victories came in straight sets.
