Alarmists selective about what information is released |

Global warming alarmists are rather selective about the information they release. While scientists were quick to raise the alarm of the smallest-ever recorded area of Arctic sea ice this past summer, they neglected the cause - unusual winds that blew the ice into warmer waters.
They also neglected to mention that the entire southern hemisphere was undergoing a record cold winter and Antarctic sea ice reached the greatest-ever recorded area. The following southern summer was also unusually cool, while the northern hemisphere was experiencing a much colder than normal winter and Arctic sea ice recovered to its 1980 extent. Both southern and northern hemispheres? That’s the entire globe. That's global cooling.
In fact there has been no global warming since 1998, the second-warmest year on record (1934 was warmest). 1998 was an El Nino year so it could be argued that it shouldn’t count, but still, temperatures remained static for the past seven years, until 2007 which saw a huge cooling. As skeptics have repeatedly pointed out, those temperature fluctuations are in sync with solar fluctuations, not carbon-dioxide emissions.
Alarmists ignored the evidence and insisted that temperatures were still increasing. Lately some of them have admitted the warming has ceased and cooling has begun (it’s getting pretty difficult to deny anymore), but they claimed that the current global cooling is being caused by -- global warming. The mind boggles. They must have realized how silly that sounds so the latest claim is that human-caused global warming is being temporarily overridden by natural climate variations. Those would be the same variations that they heretofore claimed didn’t exist.
While most alarmists are still promoting the warming agenda, for those who admit that the warming has stopped it’s necessary to find ways to continue the gravy train. After all, billions of government dollars are being pumped into the global warming industry every year and the next U.S. president (whoever it will be) seems likely to vastly increase global-warming spending and regulations.
The many vested interests of the global warming industry are on the cusp of a financial and political bonanza, something that scientific facts and climatic realities could ruin. So when global temperature doesn’t behave the way they want, excuses and explanations must be found to prevent the almost-mature golden goose from being roasted for dinner.
Expect global warming proponents to sound ever more ridiculous if cooling continues.

And I also feel people should read what the leading scientists were saying in 1975 about the threat to our food supply due to global cooling fears. It's a good thing we didn't implement some of their recommendations!
