VANCOUVER - B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell will announce a new roof for B.C. Place Stadium at a news conference Friday.
A government statement says the news conference will be held at the stadium. There is speculation Campbell will unveil plans for a retractable roof.
The B.C. government has been discussing putting a new roof on B.C. Place since the stadium's inflated dome collapsed during a wind storm in January 5, 2007.
Government officials estimate replacing the existing fabric roof would cost about $20 million while a retractable roof would be $200 million.
