Kindergarten to Grade 3 students were dazzled when …cole Austin Road hosted Vancouver's Science World on Monday morning. In the Real Life Science presentation, the two crazy-about-science presenters highlighted the four necessities for each person to thrive and live: oxygen, space, food, and water. They interactively demonstrated science and interesting facts. They beat a drum, symbolizing the body's heart beat, and they called upon a Grade 1 girl to run around the gym twice and measure her heartbeat with a stethoscope. The mad scientists called upon a Grade 3 boy to fit in the personal space box and laughter broke out when Mme. Dougherty took her turn in the box. During Energy in Action, out came the chemical-reacting, beaker-oozing experiments and rocket launchers to wow the Grade 4/5 audience.
