CONWAY & PARK
Re: Kids dying to get off reserve (story, May 10).
Native leaders are proving to be just like their white counterparts, keeping their people on reserves where there are no jobs.
Segregation? Headlines in our papers should read: "Chief Fontaine gets fat and holds his people ransom for federal money."
Let them assimilate into society and get on with the good life that Canada offers. We should give them a home in a city where they can be educated and part of our culture. It would cost us a pittance in relation to Indian Affairs and what we've spent negotiating for the past 20 years.
Canadian First Nations should be top priority. Instead, we send food to Burma that is confiscated by their army. Burma can take a number and get in line.
