Development of new UNBC program applauded Print E-mail

The B.C. Human Resources Management Association supports and applauds the creation of the new degree program in Human Resources Management at the University of Northern B.C. School of Business.
The demand for human resources managers has seen exceptionally strong growth in the past four years as organizations realize the strategic importance of having HR professionals that are educated for leadership roles with people issues such as recruitment, retention, workplace health and safety, and labour relations. UNBC is both forward thinking and practical in creating a degree course to produce graduates that will meet this need.
B.C. HRMA particularly praises UNBC for recognizing the national Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation in the creation of the new degree program. Having a degree will be a requirement for obtaining the CHRP designation by 2011. Having an education in the specialized area of HR will put UNBC students ahead of the pack.
The UNBC School of Business once again shows its progressive thinking in announcing this new major degree program. Human resources is a growth industry and this timely addition to the business program will be in high demand.
