Hey kids. Heres your chance to play catch with the guy who rewrote the record book as quarterback of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats. Quarterback Gino Guidugli, and his B.C. Lions teammates Tyson Craiggs and Sean Whyte, will be bringing their football talents to the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre on Saturday morning for the Play With the Pros introductory skills camp. The free camp, for kids aged six-12, will feature introductory sessions on passing, catching, rushing, kicking, offensive line, defensive line, defensive secondary, and linebacker play. Coaches from the Prince George Minor Football Association will assist the pros in conducting the drills for the young players. Guidugli, 25, a second-year CFL import from Fort Thomas, Ky., was the starting QB for 46 of the 47 games Cincinnati played from 2001-2004 and by the end of his college career he owned most of the Bearcats records in passing and team offence. He signed with the Tennessee Titans in 2005 and played for Cologne, Germany of the now-defunct NFL Europa, before signing with the Lions last season. The six-foot-three, 225-pound Guidugli played four games for the Lions in 2007, completing six of his 11 pass attempts for 138 yards and one touchdown. Craiggs, a fourth-year special teams player who specializes in long snaps, is a 26-year-old native of Kamloops. The six-foot, 200-pound University of Saskatchewan alumni earned a Grey Cup ring as an offensive lineman with the Lions in 2006. Hes never missed a game in four CFL seasons. Whyte is the Lions backup kicker, second to Paul McCallum on the depth chart. The 22-year-old native of Surrey played last season with the South Surrey Big Kahuna Rams of the B.C. Junior Football Association. After practicing all last year with the Lions, he signed a three-year contract to play in the CFL starting this season. Play With the Pros participants should come early to register. The first 100 players will receive free T-shirts. All players must bring a change of footwear to the Sport Centre fieldhouse. Players will also have the opportunity to sign up for the PGMFA season, which starts in August. Online registration is also available at www.pgmfa.com. The league is also offering a Level 2 coaching course this weekend, as well as a Level 1 referees clinic. The two-day sessions start tonight.
