May is child care month -- a time to celebrate all those in the community who work so hard to provide all of our children with wonderful services.
Child-care providers throughout the community will be gathering this evening at the Ramada to host the third annual Champions in Childcare Gala. The following morning, child-care providers will have the opportunity to hear the ECEBC executive director speak at a meeting at UNBC Childcare Services.
What an exciting time to be a child-care provider. On Wednesday evening many of us came to hear Carole James and Claire Trevena speak about the important issues regarding child care and what we can all do to see a change. Although not largely covered by the media and with short notice given, the message was very clear: things need to happen for all of us to have a child-care system in B.C. that works for everyone. So celebrate those caregivers in your community, stand up to change and support a new way of looking at child care. We all benefit from it.
