I'd like to thank The Citizen for doing its part in promoting the Cougars by moving the sports section to the front page. For anybody who hasn't noticed that's exactly where they belong.The hockey I have witnessed at CN Centre recently is nothing short of spectacular, scintillating, high-tempo hockey that is worth five times the price of admission. If there is a hockey fan out there who hasn't imbibed on this hockey nirvana, come to the game on Monday, you will not be disappointed.The boys are giving 120 per cent and are running like a highly tuned sports car with no give-up. So surprising that they haven't missed a beat despite the seemingly devastating blow of losing one of their premier forwards. I was sitting behind the bench on Wednesday and watching the boys head to the dressing room after the second period. There wasn't a face that wasn't totally spent, exhausted, giving it their all.It's sad to think we will lose most of these heroes next year and have to start all over again and sink into hockey apathy again. Let's get out to the rest of these games and pump our guys to the max.The Prince George fans have got the attention of the league once again. I have to say the over-the-top berating of the officiating is a blemish on our spirit. Do the refs make bad calls? No doubt. Are they favouring the opponents? No way. The game is fast and the players (especially Everett) are doing their best to confound them.I challenge the people who are swearing at and berating the refs to ask themselves if they could do a better job. Let's lighten up on the refs and forgive them their mistakes and just get down to supporting our team, which never quits no matter how many bad calls go against them.-- Peter Bernier, Prince George
